Pre-placement education classes offered those considering adoption
WARREN
Northeast Ohio Adoption Services (NOAS) is offering a series of pre-placement classes for singles or doubles who are considering becoming adoptive or foster parents.
The series will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 12, and continue on Saturday and Sunday that weekend, with the series resuming the weekend of Nov. 20-21.
Participants will learn more about the skills, personality traits and dedication that help a person become an effective and loving adoptive or foster parent.
Adoptive parents may either own or rent their home, mobile home, apartment or condo. They will need a stable, but not necessarily high income.
NOAS does not charge fees to a family to adopt a child in the care of the child welfare system. It specializes in finding loving families for school-aged children and teens who can be adopted individually or with their brothers and sisters.
Potentially interested people can register for the classes at the NOAS office, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26. For details, call John Hostetler at 330-856-5582, ext. 123, by Nov. 4.
