A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Girard and Liberty:
HUBBARD
Sept. 29
Fraud: A Moore Street man reported receiving a possible scam in the mail.
Burglary: To a residence in the 300 block of Grandview Avenue after someone apparently pushed in a rear screen.
Attempted breaking and entering: Damage was found to a rear door after someone evidently tried to enter Taco Bell, 730 W. Liberty St.
Sept. 30
Menacing: A worker for a Youngstown-Hubbard Road fast-food restaurant told police a man has been stalking her while she’s at work.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Drummond Avenue man said a friend borrowed but failed to return his 2003 Pontiac GMC Sonoma.
Menacing: A woman reported another student had been harassing her daughter on a school bus.
Theft: A woman reported pills missing from her apartment in the 30 block of Hillview Avenue.
Oct. 1
Possible identity theft: A woman reported a possible situation in the 3300 block of Creed Avenue.
Theft: An official with Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., reported an incident of theft and forgery, though the report contained no details.
Oct. 2
Burglary: Occurred in the 500 block of Stewart Avenue through a basement window.
Oct. 3
Identity theft: A Rebecca Avenue man found out someone tried to steal his identity.
Theft: A man at a North Main Street doctor’s office reported his wallet missing.
GIRARD
Oct. 1
Menacing: A State Street woman said her former boyfriend has been making and sending unwanted calls and text messages.
Drugs: Devin J. Piccirilli, 19, of Fran Lane, Hermitage, Pa., faced charges of illegal processing of drug documents and obstructing justice, both felonies, after police learned of someone trying to sign a fraudulent prescription at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 713 N. State St. He also provided a false name, a report said.
Domestic violence: Charles S. Hill, no age given, of 510 N. State St., Girard, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Hill had grabbed her wrists, then threw her onto a bed during an argument.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window was broken and its interior ransacked on Elruth Court.
Assault: A man and a woman walking near Iowa Avenue reported several people in two cars got out and assaulted them.
Oct. 2
Drugs: A woman reported possible drug-related activity at a stadium on Highland Avenue before police said they found a bag of suspected marijuana, two packages of papers to roll marijuana and a device used to process the drug. Two juveniles faced charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Drugs: Authorities responded to a possible overdose at Liberty Park, then charged 23-year-old Jaime L. Glaspell of Beech Street, Girard, with drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business when, they said, a bag of suspected marijuana, a syringe and a bowl with suspected marijuana residue were found. Similar charges were to be filed against John Chamberlain, no age listed, of Elruth Court, Girard.
Oct. 3
Criminal damaging: A mailbox in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue sustained $100 in damage.
Criminal trespassing: Police received a report of three juveniles on the roof of the former Girard High School near U.S. Route 422.
Criminal damaging: Three of a vehicle’s tires were slashed in the 200 block of Ohio Avenue, for a $900 damage estimate.
Oct. 4
Recovered property: Vienna police reported that a vehicle stolen in their jurisdiction was in the 100 block of East Liberty Street, where city authorities recovered it.
LIBERTY
Sept. 30
Arrest: Coitsville police apprehended 27-year-old Delataire White, 1031 Filmore Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant from Girard Municipal Court charging him with theft.
Theft by deception: A man switched the prices of two vacuum cleaners at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, and tried to buy one for the lower price.
Theft: A charge was pending against a 24-year-old Girard woman after $90 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart.
Theft: Allison M. Whittaker, 39, of 417 Emery Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of $409 worth of items from Walmart. She also was wanted on warrants from Warren and Trumbull County.
Arrest: Officers responding to a possible domestic situation on James Lane took into custody 28-year-old William J. Kline, 5 Scott Lane, Liberty. Kline was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Oct. 1
Possible assault: A resident of a Hadley Avenue group home alleged a staff member had assaulted him.
Aggravated menacing: A Logan Gate Road woman reported a Las Vegas man threatened her life on several occasions after she terminated their online relationship.
Drugs: A girl and a boy, both 16 and of Youngstown, faced drug-related charges after a traffic stop near Colonial Drive. A metal pipe and a small bag of narcotics were found, police said.
Theft: Jessica S. Blauvelt, 27, of 3006 Crestview Ave. SE, Warren, was charged with stealing three steaks from Walmart.
Drugs: Three 16-year-old boys were arrested after a police dog discovered a rolled suspected marijuana cigarette and a bag of suspected marijuana in a vehicle at Church Hill Park off Belmont Avenue.
Oct. 2
Theft: Charges were pending against a Poland man, 20, and a 32-year-old Hubbard man after two wristwatches and three bottles of cologne were stolen from Walmart.
Robbery: A Youngstown woman at a Belmont Avenue store told police someone grabbed her purse from behind, causing her to strike her head on the pavement, before fleeing.
Oct. 3
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Holly Drive woman said her daughter took the accuser’s 1995 Buick without permission.
Theft: A woman at a Goldie Road store reported her purse stolen from a shopping cart.
