Paper lawn bags required for Girard's annual leaf collection

GIRARD — The city requires the use of paper lawn bags for the annual leaf collection. The first five bags are provided free with proof of residency such as a photo identification card and a utility bill. Bags will be sold for five bags for one dollar.

From Oct. 12 through Nov.30, bags will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays at Girard Street Department Garage, 943 S. State St.

Leaves raked into the street will not be picked up by the city. Bags will be picked up with regular garbage collection.
