POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept. 26

Drug abuse: Police arrested Timothy Lyden, 25, 1285 Pioneer Drive, Boardman, on charges of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia at Boardman-Canfield Road and Ironwood Blvd.

Sept. 27

Telecommunications harassment: A resident of the 300 block of West Main Street told police her daughter has been threatened by her ex-boyfriend.

Sept. 28

Drugs: Police charged Megan Uhl, 18, of 272 Sawmill Run Drive, with drug abuse and drug paraphernalia after her arrest at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

Fraudulent charges: A Herbert Road resident told police unauthorized charges were put on her credit card.

Sept. 29

Theft: A woman said her purse, with $100 and credit cards, was stolen at The Dollar Tree, 405 E. Main St.

Theft: Nine flower pots were stolen from a home in the 30 block of Newton Square Drive.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 27

Possible theft: A man said he was short-changed $50 by a cashier at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A woman is a suspect in menacing at a home in the 1000 block of Claridge Drive.

Criminal damaging: A door and lighter were damaged at Austintown Junior Soccer League, 851 Ohltown Road.

Theft: A car was entered and a stereo taken in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to James Campana, 40, of 4823 Westchester Drive, on the charge at a home in the 100 block of South Idlewood Road.

Sept. 2

Domestic violence: Police charged Erick McVicker, 30, of 1429 Maplecrest Drive, with the crime after his arrest at his home.

Warrant: Police arrested Michael Flarey, 51, of 65 Forest Hill Drive, on a charge of passing bad checks.

Auto theft/recovered property: A 1995 Chevrolet Camaro was stolen in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road and recovered by Youngstown police after a pursuit.

Sept. 29

Menacing: A man is accused of menacing at Mike’s Transmission, 202 S. Meridian Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Jennifer James, 20, of 209 Lincoln Ave., Niles, on a charge of forgery.

Abduction: A victim alleges two men kept him in his room at the Economy Inn, 1051 Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: Police charged Bradley Bowlin, 29, no address listed, with the theft of $89.50 in merchandise from Walmart, and with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and vandalism.

Sept. 30

Disorderly conduct: Police charged Thomas Mauch, 41, of 1053 Collins Ave., with the crime after his arrest at Rumors Lounge, 104 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Several items were stolen at Walgreens, 40 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Several items were stolen from an auto parked in the 5000 block of Oakcrest Avenue.

Theft: A checkbook was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 5000 block of Oakcrest.

Theft: Police charged Jason Moore, 25, of 3504 Oakview Ave., with the crime after his arrest at Walmart.

Burglary: Nothing was stolen in a break-in in the 100 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Oct. 1

Obstructing official business: Police issued a summons to Jeffrey Wilson, 41, 337 W. Earle Ave., Youngstown, on the charge.

Burglary: Numerous items were stolen at an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A lawn mower was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Oakcrest Avenue.

Fraud: Unauthorized transactions were reported from a home in the 500 block of Westgate Boulevard.

Breaking and entering: An out building was entered and sprayed with graffiti at a home in the 4000 block of Stark Drive.

Drug offense: Police charged John Mendez, 37, of 415 Imperial St., Youngstown, with trafficking in cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse of marijuana.

Burglary: Money and a Marie Osmond doll were reported missing from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Domestic violence: Tracy Hughes, 30, 3521/2 Idlewood Road was arrested for domestic violence at her home.

Oct. 2

Criminal damaging: Garage door panels were damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to Rachel Malve, 34, of 84 16th St., Struthers, after a disturbance in the 3000 block of Edinburgh Drive.

Theft: A Craftsman generator was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 200 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Theft: A credit card was taken and used at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was struck by a pellet or BB in the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Oct. 3

Theft: Bank books were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at Chippers Lounge, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.

Theft: A debit card was taken from a home in 3000 block of Staatz Drive and unauthorized withdrawals were made on it.

Theft: Merchandise was stolen at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police issued a warrant to Taquala North, 22, of 987 Compass West, accusing her of failure to appear in court on a charge of obstructing official business.

Theft: A Nintendo DSI was stolen from a home in the 20 block of Carnegie Avenue.

Criminal mischief: A vehicle was spray-painted at a home in the 4000 block of Plumbrook Drive.
