YAFWC scholarship fundraiser to be Oct. 20 at Holiday Inn

“Love Makes the World Go Round” has been chosen as the theme for a fashion show and luncheon to be sponsored by Youngstown Area Federation of Women’s Clubs Inc., an affiliate of both the Ohio and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Inc.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Following the luncheon a style show will be presented by Talbots. Hairstyles for models will be by Panache, and makeup will be by BeautiControl.

There will be musical entertainment by Jack Ciarniello and Jim McClellan of Youngstown, and the special vocalist will be Amanda Beagle, Miss Ohio of 2004 and the winner of the Miss America 2005 Talent Award.

Barbara Higgins is serving as event chairwoman, and her co-chairwomen are Valorie Zurawick, scholarship committee chairwoman, and Lee Bowden. Committee members are Debra Kostelic, president, and Suzanne Brown, Rusti Puromaki, Catherine Campana, Marylou Stimple and Elva Easton.

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is an international women’s organization, founded in 1868 and dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. The Youngstown Federation of Women’s Clubs was established in 1906, headed by Mrs. Warren P. Williamson.
