Mr, Mrs. Roberts visit Tara Inn for anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts of Salem were honored at a family dinner and treated to a visit to Tara Inn as they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Hosts for the events were their children.

Their family includes Bob and Mary Roberts of Beaufort, S.C.; Ron and Terri Roberts of Salem, and Diane and Paul Young of Poland. They have eight grandchildren, Anne Roberts, Angela and Young Choi, Dan and Ali Roberts, Rob Roberts, Colin Rank, and Ben Roberts, and five step-grandchildren, Tim, Scott and John Trelevan and Nicole and Dominic Young.

The former Marilyn Lenz and Mr. Roberts were married Sept. 16, 1950, in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

Mr. Roberts, a professional engineer, was the owner and president of Roberts Engineering Co. for 25 years, and Mrs. Roberts assisted as secretary-treasurer at the company,

After retiring, the couple founded MiMi’s Caf , a gourmet coffee shop in Salem. Mr. Roberts also does consulting engineering, and his wife works part time at Consign and Design in Poland.
