Northern Iowa 24, South Dakota State 14

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa

Tirrell Rennie threw for a touchdown and ran in for two more to lift Northern Iowa. The Panthers (2-2, 2-0 Missouri Valley) were best on the ground, rushing for 276 yards while Rennie and fellow quarterback Zach Davis completed 12 of just 19 passes for 114 yards. Running back Carlos Anderson led the Panthers in rushing with 136 yards. Rennie ran for 121 yards. The Jackrabbits (0-4, 0-2) held their own through most of the game thanks to 230 yards passing by Thomas O’Brien.

So. Illinois 38, Illinois State 17

NORMAL, Ill.

Chris Dieker threw one touchdown and rushed for another to lead Southern Illinois. Shariff Harris rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns for the Salukis (2-3, 1-1, Missouri Valley). Kyle Dougherty also kicked a field goal, and Luke Thuston scored on a punt return. Dieker finished with 78 yards passing and 91 yards rushing. Matt Brown passed for 149 yards and one touchdown for the Redbirds (3-2, 2-1).

Western Illinois 28, North Dakota State 16

FARGO, N.D.

Caulton Ray rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown and Matt Barr threw two TD passes to Lito Senatus. Bryce Flowers added 82 rushing yards and a score for the Leathernecks (4-1, 2-0 Missouri Valley), who won their third straight. Brock Jensen passed for 239 yards and scored on a 1-yard run for the Bison (3-2, 0-2). Ryan Jastram kicked three field goals.

Indiana State 56, Quincy 22

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.

Ronnie Fouch threw four touchdown passes and Darrius Gates ran for three scores. The Sycamores (2-2) avenged a 26-20 overtime loss last season to NAIA member Quincy.

Gates ran for touchdowns of 31 and 10 yards in the first quarter, and after the Hawks (0-5) scored on a pass from Bobby Brienneisen to Justin Dickens, the Sycamores scored four touchdowns.
