Limelight Awards and Achievements

Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire, D-4th, was recently honored with a Guardian of Small Business award from the National Federation of Independent Business. The small business association recognized Altmire for his voting record on behalf of small business owners. Guardian awards will go to 202 representatives from the 111th Congress who voted favorably on small business issues at least 70 percent of the time.

The Arby’s Restaurant on Belmont Avenue will receive the Liberty Business Association’s 2010 Beautification Award. The group will present the annual award at the Liberty Township trustees’ meeting Oct. 16.

Brouse McDowell, a regional legal professional association, will be included in U.S. News and World Report’s 2010 Best Law Firm ranking. The report ranked 8,782 law firms into tiers in 81 practice areas. Brouse McDowell’s Akron office has been ranked in Tier 1 for banking and finance law, bankruptcy and reorganization law, trusts and estates law and in the management category of employment law. The firm’s Cleveland office was ranked in Tier 1 for insurance law. The national first-tier rankings will appear in the October issue of U.S. News and World Report.
