Cantons renew marriage vows for anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene C. Canton Sr. of Fort Mill celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding by renewing their marriage vows on Oct. 2 at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman.

Following the 4 p.m. ceremony the couple were honored during a dinner reception given by their children and their spouses.

Their family includes Eugene Canton Jr. of Cleveland; Mark and Ann Marie Canton of Martinez, Calif.; Dawn and Ray Padgett of Chantilly, Va; and Deanna Canton of Charlotte, N.C. Their grandchildren are Dagny, Shelby, Miles, Mackenzie and Mason.

Mrs. Canton was a clerical employee at Forum Health of Youngstown prior to retiring in July 1999.

Mr. Canton served four years with the U.S. Air Force and retired in April of 1999 as a supervisor with Remacor in West Pittsburg.

The former Judith Kaminski and Mr. Canton were married on Oct. 1, 1960, at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
