White House Fruit Farm started its celebration of the fall season with its 29th annual Craft Show and Harvest Festival Sept. 18-19.
The farm hosted a craft show on the grounds with 50 vendors featuring artisans from around the region. Additional outdoor events included horse-drawn wagon rides through the orchards, a petting zoo, a corn maze and a childrens’ play area. The weekend also marked the opening of the farm’s pumpkin pavilion.
According to Debbie Pifer, a member of the Hull family, which owns White House Fruit Farm, approximately 10,000 people attend the two-day festival.
“We hold this festival to celebrate Ohio’s bounty and thank our loyal customers who visit throughout the year. This is a fun time of the year and visitors can enjoy all the fall activities we have to offer,” Pifer said.
Inside the 10,000-square-foot market were the perennial favorites, including apples, pies, doughnuts, cookies, apple cider and fudge. Outside, visitors snapped up the fall favorites caramel and candy apples. Food carts offering whole chickens, hot dogs, corn dogs, French fries and lemonade also drew big crowds.
Special fall outdoor events continue every weekend through Oct. 24. Fall hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
