YBPW fundraiser to feature champagne and clothing

The Youngstown Business and Professional Women’s Club will host its 10th annual Champagne Luncheon and Fashion Show on Oct. 9 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. and a luncheon will be served at noon. Following the luncheon there will be a fashion show featuring clothing from Suzanne’s Tennis and Golf and Stork’s Landing in Cornersburg, a children’s boutique.

Admission to the event, the club’s major fundraiser, is $35. Those planning to attend should contact Sandra Barger, the fashion show chairwoman, at 330-782-8518. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the YBPW Anne McMahon Scholarship for women attending Youngstown State University.

McMahon, a professor of management at YSU, will be retiring this year after a career in education. A former president of YBPW, she has contributed to the club’s growth and mission. The scholarship was created to assist women pursuing an education and future career growth through YSU.

YBPW is a professional social club that is focused on preserving equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, personal and professional development and access to information.
