Sale of Forum Health to CHS is complete


The sale of Forum Health to Tennessee-based Community Health Systems was finalized today. Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Northside Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as Forum’s ancillary facilities, are now affiliates of CHS, the largest publicly-traded hospital company in the U.S.

CHS vice-president of operations David Fikse has been appointed chief executive of the Forum system. Fikse, who will leave his post at CHS corporate offices, will also serve as chief executive of officer of Northside.

CHS’s vice president of finance Cully Chapman will also leave the corporate office to take become Forum’s chief financial officer. He will serve in the same role at Northside.

As a result of the transaction, TMH, Northside and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital will change their tax-status to become for-profit hospitals.
