Ridge stays undefeated; Brookfield gets first win

Mineral Ridge remained undefeated, thanks to a three-match sweep, winning 25-6, 25-21 and 25-15 against Lisbon on Thursday night.

The 17-0 Rams (10-0 ITCL) were led by Katie Fife with 11 kills and 10 blocks. Joining her were Brittney Bevilacqua with 18 points and 13 assists, Abby Riffee with 16 digs, Megan Ben with 21 kills and Lea Whitmer with 12 assists.

Kayla Hiscox had 13 assists and six kills for the Blue Devils.

Mooney 25-25-25, UrsuLine 4-12-18

Youngstown

Cardinal Mooney earned the latest victory in its rivalry with Ursuline.

The Cardinals (8-9) had big nights from several players. Dina Daltorio had 16 digs and 19 points. Chyna Davis had seven kills and five blocks. Sierra Spotleson had 14 assists and 19 points. And Elena Andino-Esparra had 14 kills.

Austintown

Kayleigh Lipke had 11 points and three aces for the Spartans (9-5, 6-5 Federal League) in the three-match sweep.

Jenna Corrato had 20 assists, while Kristy Lake had 12 digs and Stephanie Sfara and Kristy Lake each had 12 kills for Boardman. Lauren Davila had six blocks. The Falcons (6-11, 2-8) got four points each from Kacie Roche and Britney Weidenthal.

Amanda Callahan had 13 digs, and Julie Martinelli had a block. Roche and Weidenthal had three kills and eight assists, respectively.

Lordstown 25-25-25, Southington 12-13-18

Lordstown

Allyson Hajnosz had 24 points, 27 assists and four aces for the Red Devils improved to 10-5 overall, and 8-1 in the Northeastern Athletic Conference.

Also making noise were teammates Heather Darocha with 15 kills, seven digs, six points and a block and Kaitlynne Cassidy with eight points, five fills, four aces and three digs.

Jessica Donlon had 15 serving points, 12 kills and 15 digs; Shanell Harris had 10 serving point, five kills and 10 digs; Dana Coyier had 15 serving points, 18 assists and eight digs and Cashia Moyer had four kills and two blocks for Youngstown Christian (6-10).

For Lowellville (3-13), Ashley Moore had eight serving points, three serving aces, five kills and 12 digs; Jill Cholensky had four serving points, one ace, three kills and 28 digs and Maddie Decesare had 21 digs.

Leighann Clayton had 10 kills and a pair of blocks, while Tori Thompson had 11 points, 12 assists and six aces for the Warriors, who won their first game of the season.

Lindsey Cerimele had 26 assists and 15 points for the Vikings (12-3) and Desarae Simmons had 16 digs.

The Flashes were led by Kaylee Baker with 23 assists, Jessica Nichols with 18 kills and Tawny Rogers with 14 digs.

North Lima

Madison York had 15 kills and 15 points, while Sarah Sauerwein had 10 points, six kills, three aces and six digs for the Raider (6-11, 4-6).

The Rebels (3-13, 1-8) were led by Savannah Elwonger with eight kills, seven digs, four points and two aces, while Alexys Brooks had 18 points, five digs, five kills and six aces.

Morgan Newbauer had 30 assists.

The Indians (10-4, 3-2 All-American Conference White Tier) got 17 assists, five pints and two aces from Hayley Spalla.

Teammates Bryanna Jay had eight kills and a block, Lyndsey Crown had seven kills and two blocks, Morgan Walters had 21 points and nine aces and Callie Jay had seven kills, six points, three aces and a block.

Kaylee Moore had five aces, 14 points, 13 digs and five kills and Alyssa Olmi had 20 digs and nine assists for Struthers (8-5).

For Newton Falls (9-6), Lindsay Brockway had 11 points, 10 assists and three digs and Tori Milani had 12 digs, two blocks, two aces and four kills.

The Warriors fell to 7-10 overall in the loss.

The team was led by Kelsey Leiselle, who had four points and an ace. Teammate Courtney Boyce had seven kills.

The Mustangs (10-4, 7-2 Northeast Athletic Conference) got 19 points out of Steffany Armstrong.

Joining her were Sarah McCulley with 15 kills, Jonna Omerzo with 18 digs and Julie Spadafora with 32 assists. Armstrong also had four aces, and McCulley and teammate Megan Turek had four blocks each.
