Poland youth are learning the fundamentals of football, while scoring a few touchdowns this fall.
The Poland Flag football league kicked off its season Sept. 19. More than 100 boys and girls will play a six-week season on Sundays at Baird Mitchell Field, culminating with a Super Bowl Oct. 23.
The league has been around for several years and has three teams in the K-1 division, four teams in the second and third-grade division and four teams in the fourth, fifth and sixth-grade division.
The league is directed by Jeff Sabrin and sponsored by Joseph Yurich, Patrick Skarote, Morgan Oil - Nancy and Mike Kassem, Betras, Maruca, Copp and Harshman - Chris Maruca, Omega Medical - Michael Marantis, Youngstown Hard Chrome, Associates in Nephrology and Tony Cougras.
