New Girard councilman

Girard has a new 3rd Ward councilman. Girard native Richard Watts will replace former Councilman Tom Seidler, who resigned after moving to Austintown. Council President Reynald Paolone said Thursday that the ballot vote was conducted by four precinct committee members, who did not reveal whether it was unanimous. Paolone said Watts held office with the council in the ‘80s, is a former Girard police officer and a Girard High School graduate. Also seeking the nomination was George Eicher.
