Vacant home burns on East Side

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

An East Side blaze in a vacant home put neighboring residents out of the house Monday afternoon.

The Youngstown Fire Department was called to 117 N. Lane St. at about 3:15 p.m. Monday to extinguish a fire inside a vacant home on the property.

Estimated damages on the East Side house were unavailable Monday night, but fire department personnel said the home next door sustained some damage and the Red Cross was called in to provide that family a place to stay for the night.

Firefighters were on scene until about 5:30 p.m. Monday.

No one was injured in the blaze, and it is still under investigation, fire officials said.
