No. 2 Michigan State 73, Tennessee Tech 55
EAST LANSING, Mich.
Durrell Summers scored 21 points, and No. 2 Michigan State warmed up for its showdown with top-ranked Duke. The Spartans (5-1) will surely drop in the rankings before taking on the Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday night. Michigan State lost to Connecticut last week at the Maui Invitational, although the Spartans bounced back with a victory over Washington.
Penn State 70, Furman 49
STATE COLLEGE, Pa.
Talor Battle had 19 points and six assists, and Penn State hit a season-high 12 of 19 from the 3-point arc to rout Furman. David Jackson added 16 points and Jeff Brooks had 13 for the Nittany Lions (4-1), who recovered nicely following their first loss of the season, at Mississippi on Friday.
Notre Dame 58, Wisconsin 51
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.
Carleton Scott and Eric Atkins scored 12 points apiece, leading Notre Dame past Wisconsin to claim the Old Spice Classic championship. The Irish (7-0) scored 15 straight points in the final four minutes to pull away, going home with a huge tournament victory for a young team suddendly beaming with confidence.
Northwestern 65, Creighton 52
EVANSTON, Ill.
John Shurna scored 23 points and Michael Thompson added 18 as Northwestern won its fourth straight game. Thompson sank back-to-back 3-pointers and Shurna dunked off a feed from Thompson to give Northwestern its largest lead of the game at 55-39 with 8:35 remaining. The closest Creighton came after that was within 60-52 with 1:59 left.

Illinois-Chicago 63, Toledo 62
CHICAGO
Robo Kreps’ 3-pointer with 9 seconds to play gave Illinois-Chicago the victory. The Flames (4-3) led most of the second half but Toledo took a 60-58 lead on Delino Dear’s two free throws with 1:18 left. Paul Carter tied it with a layup for UIC with 1:07 left, but Malcolm Griffin made one of two free throws with 36 seconds to play and Dear made a free throw with 16 seconds left. But Dear missed the second and the Flames came down to set up Kreps’ game-winner.
Detroit 96, Niagara 77
DETROIT
Ray McCallum scored 21 points and Jason Calliste added 17 more as Detroit closed out the Legends Classic with a blowout win. The Titans (4-3) led 52-33 at halftime and quickly extended their lead with an 8-0 run to start the second half. Detroit shot 31 for 64 from the floor (48.4 percent) and outrebounded the Purple Eagles 55-37. Niagara shot 28 of 80 from the floor (35 percent) and missed 23 attempts from behind the arc (9 for 32). The Purple Eagles also committed 26 personal fouls as the Titans hit 31 of 41 free-throw attempts (75.6 percent). LaMarcus Lowe posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit. Eli Holman scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as well for the Titans.

Albany 56, Bowling Green 55
DETROIT
Logan Aronhalt scored 18 points as Albany held off Bowling Green in the finale of the Legends Classic. Cameron Black led the Falcons (1-6) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Scott Thomas added 13 points in the loss. Tim Ambrose, 13 points, was the only other player in double figures for Albany.
