ABWA chapter publishes award-winning newsletter

YOUNGSTOWN

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association publishes a monthly newsletter, The Mill Creek Messenger, which has attracted national attention.

At the ABWA spring conference in Indianapolis, the Messenger was chosen as one of the top five newsletters to be submitted for judging on the national level.

Judy Codespote and Mary Brown represented the chapter at the national convention Oct. 28-30 in Chattanooga, Tenn., where the Messenger competed with 30 other newsletters and won the national competition.

Marianne Poprik serves as editor for the Messenger, and Dee Probst of Park Place Printing adds the finishing touches and prints the publication, which is sent to all members, other chapters, regional vice presidents and the national office.

The chapter will have a Christmas meeting at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. The theme for the evening will be “Snowflakes and Songs,” and vocal selections will be by Steve Fazzini. There will be a gift exchange, and contributions will be collected for a charity.

The cost for the party will be $22 and dinner selections will be London broil, veal parmigiana or chicken francaise.

Reservations are to be made by Sunday by calling Kathy Anderson at 330-533-6675 anytime Monday, Wednesday or Friday and after 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
