SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced


1418 Auxiliary Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brownstone Court, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, 330-755-2865. John Texter will preside. Cancellations must be made by Monday to Sandy Redeske at 330-755-5192. Any call after that date will not be accepted. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. Cards and bingo will be played. Illness or deaths among members should be reported to Ann Banyots at 330-783-2019. The annual Christmas dinner will take place with early refreshments.

4339 AARP will have its holiday party at 1 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Saxon Club. Tickets will be on sale until Wednesday by calling Pat Miller at 330-799-2635 or Anne Fear at 330-797-9037. No tickets will be sold at the door. Nursing home items will be collected.

Erie-Mahoning Valley Railroad Association will meet at noon Tuesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Reports will be given, and birthdays will be recognized. All railroad retirees and their spouses are welcome.

Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will have an annual holiday gathering Dec. 8 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. An 11 a.m. social will precede lunch at 11:45. Entertainment will be by the Austintown Fitch Concert Choir. Representatives from the Salvation Army will accept donations of unwrapped toys and nonperishable items. Reservations are to be made by Wednesday with Cheryl Fell, 330-533-4535.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Barbara Burnside will give the devotions. Members will leave at noon for a Christmas luncheon at Yankee Kitchen restaurant.
