Poland Presbyterian Church weekday preschool celebrated Thanksgiving during school on Monday. They dressed as Pilgrims and Indians and sat together around a long dinner table in their classroom.
Preschool director Julie Simington said they had been learning how the Indians had to grow and make their own food because there were no supermarkets or stores during that time period. To reinforce what they learned, students were encouraged to bring homemade dishes for the Thanksgiving meal.
Simington, who attended the Presbyterian weekday preschool when she was young, said the school has been hosting the Thanksgiving feast for more than 50 years.
