Christmas musical coming to Canfield theatre

Move Over Broadway Productions, Inc., Canfield’s community theatre, will present its holiday musical “Believe: Christmas Is Coming,” Friday and Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. on the stage of the new Family Life Center at St. Michael Church, state Rout. 46 in Canfield.

The musical celebration is suitable for all ages and will feature inspirational music and dance, a musical nativity and Christmas tunes including “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

The performance is being directed by Marlene Menaldi Strollo, with musical direction by Jodine Pilmer and choreography by Nick Opritza. The cast is comprised of 30 adults and 11 children and is accompanied by a four-piece orchestra.

Special appearances will be made by ballroom dancers Mary Ann and Ron Ebert and Len Rome, from Meet Me on the Dance Floor dance company. “Elvis” will make a guest appearance, as well, singing “Blue Christmas.”

Proceeds from the production will benefit the St. Michael Family Life Center Building Fund. General admission is $10. Tickets are available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church office and at the door on performance nights. The box office will open one hour prior to curtain time.
