Bald eagle facts

Bald eagles eat mainly fish but also have been known to eat dead animals, muskrats, turtles and other waterfowl.

They have a wingspan of 6 to 7.5 feet wide.

Bald eagles can live between 15 and 20 years and keep the same mate. They have been known to find new mates if their first dies.

Nests can be up to 10 feet in diameter and weigh 2,000 pounds.

Eagles lay two to three eggs once a year, which take about 35 days to hatch.
