Youngstown Gymnastic teams win competition

USAG gymnasts at Youngstown Gymnastics in Boardman brought home a pair of team championships after winning the Lake Erie Classic on Nov. 6.

The level five and level six teams each won top honors and several individuals picked up some hardware as well.

The level five team of Katelyn Arnett, Jackie Harker, Ashley Jones, Amanda Petro, Anna Primavera, and Madison Rast with coach Megan Christie won the team competition in their division.

Individually, Harker took home first on bars with a score of 9.5 and took second all-around. Jones was first on beam with a score of 9.575 and first all-around. Rast took first on vault with a score of 9.15 and first all-around.

The level six team consisted of Kirsten Appel, Gigi Delullo, Megan Janak, Mya Kasten, Lauren Manski, Alaina Reilly, Nicole Ruse, and Jeneca Shar with coach Courtney Schuller. In addition to team gold, several competitors earned individual awards.

DeLullo took first on bars, beam and floor and first all-around. Manski took first on beam with a score of 9.55 and first all-around. Shar took second on bars, beam and floor and second all-around. Kasten was first on bars and beam and third all-around. Janak took third all-around.

Level four, five, and six teams will compete in the State Gymnastics Meet Friday at the Irvin Nutter Center in Dayton.
