Possible tornadoes in La., Tenn. damage homes

IOTA, La. (AP) — Forecasters say possible tornadoes in southwest Louisiana and western Tennessee have damaged more than two dozen homes, but no one has been injured.

National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Rua says winds damaged roofs and uprooted trees just before 11 p.m. Thursday in Louisiana. In West Tennessee, a barn was destroyed and a half-dozen homes were damaged in Gibson County.

Sheriff Chuck Arnold says residents reported seeing a funnel cloud about 2 p.m. Thursday.

A strong cold front has brought rain and wind across the Southeast.

Meteorologists are going out to the damaged areas to see if was caused by tornadoes or strong winds.
