Operation Christmas Child is under way

Students at the Willow Creek Learning Center are sending their love, and gifts, to kids across the world.
Operation Christmas Child is an international program that provides Christmas gifts to children across the world, who are in need of love and hope, while sharing information about Jesus Christ. Operation Christmas Child delivered gifts to 8 million children last year. The center has participated in the program more than 10 times.
Seventh-grader Anya Landis, of Canfield, said she enjoys helping those who are less fortunate. This was her third time participating in Operation Christmas Child.
“There are people that don’t have as much as we do, so it’s nice to give them a little bit of what we have,” Landis said.
Students at the center made a minimum of one shoe box gift which included toys, coloring utensils, hard candy and hygiene items. They also added an informational sheet containing their name, geographical location, favorite color, home address, photo and an explanation as to why they love Jesus.
