Katie Montgomery and Matt Hiott, both of Walterboro, S.C., exchanged nuptial vows at noon Sept. 25 on the beach at Folly Beach, S.C., as they were united in marriage by Louise Doire.

After accepting congratulations during a reception at a beachfront home, the couple left on a wedding trip to Asheville, N.C.

The bride, a daughter of Lynne and Kevin Montgomery of Boardman, and the groom, a son of Dr. and Mrs. David Hiott of Walterboro, were honored Oct. 30 during a postnuptial reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The Hiotts live in Walterboro.

The bride’s cream-colored cotton gown was enhanced with pale green lace detailing the bodice.

Her parents stood as her attendants, and his parents stood as his attendants during the ceremony.

Flower girls were the groom’s nieces, Hagan Hiott and Katie Hiott, and ring bearers were the bride’s nephews, Kevin Montgomery and Michael Montgomery.

Mrs. Hiott works as an older-girl program specialist for the Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina in North Charleston, S.C.

Mr. Hiott graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Charleston, where he is employed.
