Angela Helen Walla and Stephen Robert Suszczynski, both of Youngstown, who were on a seven-day cruise to the Bahamas, were united in marriage when the cruise ship stopped at Charlotte Amalie on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The couple exchanged vows during a 2 p.m. ceremony Oct. 13 in the presence of the Rev. Katherine Raymond on the beach at Bolongo Bay, where a reception followed the ceremony.

The bride wore a strapless A-line gown enhanced with lace, pearls and beading.

During the cruise the couple also visited Coco Cay and St. Maarten. They live in Youngstown.

The bride, a daughter of David Walla of Salem and Michele Sandfrey of Lowellville, attended Youngstown State University, where she pursued a degree in prekindergarten. She is a pet stylist with Petco in Boardman and is attending a grooming school.

The groom, a son of Thaddeus and Christine Suszczynski of Sharon, Pa., is a systems coordinator with Praxair’s industrial plant in Youngstown. He attended YSU in pursuit of a degree in industrial engineering.
