Sale of local artwork starts Friday at Eastwood gallery

The Art Outreach Gallery in Eastwood Mall will host a holiday show and sale featuring artwork created by local students and adults beginning Friday and ending Jan. 2.

The professional gallery will showcase artwork in various media such as painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and jewelry. Exhibitors include Tom Altiere, Phyllis Bako, Christopher Karg, Rocco Vadala, Capri Cafaro, Alexander Stulock, Joe Perry, Mary Pinter, Judith Ours, Susan Jacobs, Michael Vigliotti, Obsidian Forge and Linda Margo. The majority of the artwork is for sale. Artists receive 100 percent of proceeds.

The Youth Gallery is exhibiting art by local young artists. Students from the following schools are participating in the youth exhibit: Greenville (Pa.) High School, Warren Lincoln Middle School, Niles McKinley High School, Niles McKinley Middle School, Niles Jackson Elementary, Niles Rhodes Elementary, Niles Washington Elementary School, Youngstown Early College and Maplewood High School.

The gallery also will feature various performances and

activities throughout the holiday season.

Warren Lincoln Middle School will have a student artist reception, featuring artwork by Young’s art students, from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday.

Linda Margo, a jewelry maker from Niles, will exhibit and sell jewelry redesigns made from vintage jewelry and clay pieces from 1 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11 and 18.

Maplewood High School will have a student artist reception from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 19.

Volunteers from the Trumbull County Kennels will sell greeting cards from Friendly Giants greeting cards to help raise money for rescue efforts Sunday and Dec. 4 and 5.

Mrs. Claus will read Christmas stories and be on hand for special photographs with the children for a donation from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 18 and noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 19.
