Ex-official awaits ruling in Pa. sex-taping trial

CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — A former Pennsylvania county commissioner is awaiting a judge’s verdict on charges he secretly videotaped men having sex in his home.

Prosecutors and the attorney for 51-year-old Bruce Barclay presented their cases Monday. The former Cumberland County commissioner was charged in 2008 invasion of privacy, prostitution and other counts for allegedly showering young men with gifts and secretly taping their sex acts.

Authorities say Barclay hid cameras in radios, motion detectors and intercoms and installed spying software on a laptop he gave to a college student.

Barclay’s attorney says the laptop allegation is the result of an extortion attempt.

The York County judge hearing the case did not indicate when he would rule.
