Security guard wounded by suspected shoplifter
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A security guard is hospitalized after being pistol-whipped and shot in the head in a supermarket parking lot.
East Lampeter Township police say 25-year-old Brian Fantom was shot in the head and torso Sunday after he followed two suspected shoplifters out of the Bridgeport, Lancaster County store. That’s when police say one of them pulled a handgun and hit Fantom in the head then shot him twice.
Police say Fantom was listed in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery at Lancaster General Hospital.
No arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.
