If practice makes perfect, those attending the annual tea luncheon to be sponsored by Harding Park Meeting House Building Committee are in for a real treat because the women who prepared the delicious luncheon for last year’s fundraiser are back again. They are, seated, from left, Sue Lambert and Judy Jendrasiak, and standing, Linda Clark, Mary Buchenic, Judy Ruby and JoAnn Cutter.

Harding Park Meeting House Building Committee will sponsor its second annual tea luncheon at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 at First Presbyterian Church on Westview Avenue.

The cost is $15, and proceeds are earmarked for the rebuilding of the Old School Presbyterian Meeting House at a new site in Harding Park.

The homemade items to be served at the luncheon include a variety of hot teas, pali punch, warm crab dip with crackers, mixed greens and Mandarin salad with raspberry vinaigrette, butternut squash soup, tenderloin of beef sandwiches, curried turkey salad and cranberry sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, zucchini nut bread, raisin scones and an assortment of sweets and chocolates.

In addition to the luncheon, there will be a bake sale and a basket auction.

Due to limited seating, early reservations are suggested and can be made by calling 330-534-3272, 330-534-5060 or 330-534-5246.

When the land where it was situated was purchased by a business, the 1857 historic meeting house was dismantled and put into storage until it could be rebuilt on a new site. Funds from the luncheon and from the annual “Taste of Hubbard” will help make the rebuilding possible.

When reconstructed at Harding Park, the building will incorporate modern amenities with parts of the original meeting house. It will be placed at the entrance to the park and will be used not only for weddings and baptisms, but will have a lower level hall suitable for larger community events.

The bell tower from the meeting house has been restored and sits at the park entrance. It will be placed atop the meeting house once renovations have been completed.
