Novel explains Islamic doctrine

Novel explains Islamic doctrine

SUN CITY CENTER, FLA.

A new book intertwines exciting action with applicable education as it uses a fictional story line to acquaint readers with a clearer understanding of Islamic doctrine.

In his debut book, “Out of Darkness,” author Luke Lloyd takes readers on an adventure with a teacher, journalist and reserve officer as he writes articles about the war in the Middle East and discovers religion plays a major role in current events.

Lloyd, a retired Army colonel who was raised in Youngstown, says his goal was simply to inform Americans about some Islamic doctrinal fundamentals.

Maintaining that Western civilization and Islam cannot be compatible, “Out of Darkness” explains differences between ethics and logic and discusses current terrorist situations. It leaves one to wonder if Islam is a religion, a political movement or a combination of both.
