Two police officers got into a scuffle with one of two unruly youths at Chaney High School at 10 a.m. Thursday, who ended up running out of the school and eluding capture.

According to a police report, a principal had called the officers to deal with two young males. During a conference call, the juvenile supervisor said both were to be placed under arrest. One 16-year-old youth pushed one officer while trying to run out the door. The officer grabbed the youth’s hoodie, but he shed it and ran out of the building. He remains at large.

The other officer handcuffed a second youth and took him to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center. The first youth will face an escape charge, police said.
