This is listing of special services for Thanksgiving submitted by area churches.

Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown: Greater Austintown Ministerial Association will host a community ecumenical Thanksgiving worship at 7 p.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be Kathleen Price, founder and director of Mission of Love, based in Austintown. The Mission of Love organization has helped the poor of Third-World countries, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and the hurricane victims. The fifth-grade choir of Frank Ohl Intermediate School, directed by Dan Forsberg, will sing and congregational singing and worship will be led by the praise band of Emmanuel Community Church.

Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., Youngstown: A Thanksgiving Day service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with the theme, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phillipians 4:6.

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Boardman: A Thanksgiving eve service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Burl Jernigan will preach a message and the chancel choir will be sing. Child care will be available.

Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 N. Broad St., Canfield: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday with area churches and combined choirs. An offering will be taken for Operation Blessing. Those attending are asked to donate canned goods. A reception will follow.

Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren: An interfaith Thanksgiving service is planned at 3 p.m. Sunday. This event has combined members and friends of Central and Beth Israel Temple, Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic and St Paul’s Lutheran. It began more than 60 years ago since the Christian, Catholic and Jewish congregations were all located at “Holy Corners” (the corner of Belvedere and Market streets).

Church of Christ, 3911 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge: A community Thanksgiving service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Vern Shepherd of Ohltown United Methodist Church as speaker. An offering for the Community Food Cupboard will be taken.

Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave., Youngstown: A united worship service with New Birth-Kimmelbrook Baptist Church, Metropolitan Baptist Church and Elizabeth church will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Speaker will be Pastor Willie F. Peterson. United Choir from participating churches will sing. The offering will be donated to Needle’s Eye Ministry.

First Christian Church, 140 E. Broadway Ave., Girard: A community Thanksgiving service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The offering will be given to Emmanuel Community Care Center to benefit the needy in the area. There will be a refreshments and fellowship after the service.

First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, 22 Westview Ave., Hubbard: A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday by Hubbard Christians in Action.

Free Methodist Church, Route 170, New Middletown: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The offering will benefit Springfield Township Council of Churches and Community.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown: Worship of praise and thanksgiving will be at 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Poland Presbyterian Church: A community Thanksgiving service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Sunday with participants from Holy Family Church, Heritage Presbyterian, Prince of Peace Lutheran and Poland United Methodist. There will be a combined choir under Errol Kehrberg’s direction and the homily will be given by the Rev. Carolyn Griffeth of Heritage Presbyterian. Laypeople from participating churches will take part in the liturgy. Nonperishable food items and monetary donations will benefit the local food pantry.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road (Route 46, Austintown: A Thanksgiving eve service is planned at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, formerly Unity Church Centre, 1226 Naylor-Lloyd Road, Liberty Township: A Thanksgiving eve service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Wednesday with Ric Schumacher’s lesson, “Thanks Again.”
