‘Boo’ becomes a Buckeye

Canfield High School senior Bruce “Boo” Timko signed a national letter-of-intent Nov. 10 to attend Ohio State University and play golf for the Buckeyes.

Among many honors, Timko concluded his scholastic golf career having qualified for the high school state tournament in each of his four years in high school, including two at Warren JFK and the last two at Canfield. As a junior, he won the Division I district tournament and finished tied for second in the Division I state tournament.

As a senior, he finished tied for ninth at state. His efforts led the Cardinals to two All-American Conference (AAC) team titles and a 32-2 record over a two-year period.

Timko has a 3.786 GPA and became a member of the Canfield chapter of the National Honor Society as a junior. He stands 36th in a class of 286.
