Reaching, teaching workshop scheduled


YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Black Knight’s Police Association will sponsor a Reaching and Teaching Workshop for young men between the ages of 12 and 18 from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 27 at the auditorium of Boy’s and Girl’s Club, 2105 Oakhill Ave.

Presented by R. Douglas King of Paterson, N.J., the “Me 1st Youth Initiative” event is designed to retrofit social skills, narrow the achievement gap, decrease drop-out and teenage pregnancy rates and increase student advocacy, confidence and academic engagement while promoting socially responsible behavior.

King has dedicated himself to utilizing his communication skills to impact society by empowering and motivating at-risk youth to become literate, articulate, responsible, critical thinkers.

Young men are encouraged to come to the free event prepared to think.
