Organization collecting care package items

NEWTON FALLS

Homemade cookies, hard candy, crossword puzzles, hand games, hygiene and other nonperishable items are being collected by Newton Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 332 and Auxiliary for care packages to send to military personnel.

Donations of any of the items can be taken to the post home, 433 Arlington Road, by 3 p.m. Sunday.

Anyone with a family member or friend serving with the armed forces who is unable to be home for the holidays may leave their name and address so they will receive a care package.
