Filling the budget hole

Filling the budget hole

Findlay Courier: Ohio’s budget hole, estimated to be about $8 billion, will somehow have to be filled before the next biennial budget is approved in 2011.

With tax revenue still lagging, and Gov.-elect John Kasich pledging not to raise taxes or use one-time federal money to fix the budget problem, state-supported agencies and departments are bracing for a slash in funding.

Something will have to give as far as Ohio’s budget goes. Hopefully, it won’t be our most vulnerable citizens who give up the most.
