BOARDMAN

A 22-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after he fired a starter gun in his apartment complex.

Stefan Augustyn Fiotowski is charged with inducing panic, vandalism and criminal damaging. Police said when they arrived at the Boulevard Club apartment complex, 7053 West Blvd., they heard a gunshot and screaming. Fiotowski came outside and told police that he was firing blanks, according to reports.

Fiotowski told officers that he and his wife had been arguing and that he fired the starter gun in the hallway, broke glass in the building and damaged an apartment door, reports stated.

Police said the gun they recovered was incapable of firing live rounds, and the rounds that were discharged were blanks. Fiotowski was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
