Trade dress for Disney tickets

Residents who bring a new or gently used prom dress (or bridesmaid gown) to the Covelli Centre on Saturday will get one free ticket voucher to any of the upcoming performances of Disney on Ice’s “Princess Wishes,” which comes to Covelli on Dec. 16-19.

Dress for Success, a local nonprofit group, is asking Youngstown residents to donate a dress to help economically disadvantaged high school girls. The dresses will be distributed to local teens who may not otherwise be able to afford a formal dress to prom.

The dresses will be collected between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday in the Covelli Centre lobby on East Front Street, downtown.

“Princess Wishes” is a family show that includes many Disney princesses. Tinker Bell whisks the audience through stories that include Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora and Mulan.

Show times for “Princess Wishes” at Covelli will be 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and Dec. 17; 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 18; and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 19.
