A list of free Thanksgiving meals from various organizations and churches as submitted to The Vindicator:

Mahoning county

Youngstown: Free community dinner at Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd. Turkey with all the trimmings, dessert and beverages will be provided from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today.

Youngstown: Dinner served from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at E.B. Family Life Center, 7 S. Garland Ave.

Youngstown: The McGuffey Road Church of Christ, 1101 Miami Ave., will have a free dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a free bus available for those who need transportation. They should call 330-746-4409 and make arrangements. Children who attend the dinner will be given hats, gloves and school supplies.

Austintown: IT Certification Institute (old library building), 5650 Mahoning Ave., will serve Thanksgiving dinners at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Call and tell us how many will attend as soon as possible, and at what time, no later than Monday at 330-792-8680. Donations are welcome.

North Lima: Free community Thanksgiving Dinner at Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., served at 11 and 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Dinner includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, butter, vegetable tray, pie and beverage. Please call for reservations by Monday 330-549-2588.

Stark county

Alliance: The University of Mount Union’s Ralph and Mary Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement will host the third annual Thanksgiving Community Meal from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army. The meal also will include fellowship and kid’s crafts. Those who attend the community meal will receive a coupon for a free dinner at Shaffer’s Diner on Thanksgiving Day. Columbiana county

Salem: A couple of local families, with plenty of help from the community, will once again serve a dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. The dinner features turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, vegetable, pie and beverage. No reservations are needed for those who plan to dine in at the Memorial Building, but reservations are required and are being accepted now for those who want delivery to their homes or need a ride to the building. Those reservations can be made by calling 330-337-3728 and will be taken up until Thanksgiving Day.
