Art auction to benefit children's reading museum

SALEM

Elizabeth Thatcher loves to read and to read to others.

The former teacher and former member of the Salem Board of Education reads to children whenever she can.

She is the director of the Salem Storytime Museum located in a Victorian house located at Fifth Street and North Lincoln Avenue and is designed to encourage children to read.

She said that about $150,000 is needed to finish renovations to the structure.

To raise funds, Bob and Linda Sebo of Salem along with the museum will have an art auction named the J. Robert Sebo Auction and Jazz Festival from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Kent State University’s Salem Campus.

The performers include the Jack Halkrides Quartet and John Reese & Back Beat.
