Ohio fire marshal probing fatal fire in Mahoning County

Ohio fire marshal investigators continue their investigation into the cause of a fire at 3:23 a.m. today at 8129 West Road, in Green Township, near Salem, in which a man died.

The man's name is being withheld, and an autopsy is under way by the Mahoning County Coroner's office. The fire marshal's office said the blaze was in a multifamily dwelling that had six units, four of them occupied.

Smoke alarms were present and did activate. Occupants in the other units were able to escape without injury.
