‘Fill the Cruiser’

“Fill the Cruiser” food drive is planned Saturday by local police departments and Speedway. A representative of the local police will be at Speedways throughout the area to collect food donations, which will benefit local food banks.

Threatened with gun

Police are investigating a report of a 28-year-old man who said he opened his door and had a gun thrust in his face.

The man, who lives on the 4000 block of South Avenue, told police that at 2 a.m. Sunday an unidentified man came to his home and rang the doorbell. When the resident opened the door, the man, who was wearing all black, pointed a gun at him and whispered, “Get on the ground.” The resident shut the door, and the gun- wielding man fled on foot.

Among agenda topics are Neighborhood Success Grant proposals for the March deadline; Gibson Heights Blockwatch is seeking a grant for development in a neighborhood park; and school projects and partnerships with SAANDI, school administrators and students.
