Youngstown police investigating rape

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating the reported rape of a 53-year-old South Side woman at a vacant house on the city’s East Side.

The woman told police she was at a bar on Wilson Avenue at about 4 a.m. Sunday and asked a man she knew only by a first name to take her home. The man, she told officers, instead drove her to the driveway of an abandoned home, pulled a knife on her and ordered he to perform a sex act.

The man ordered the woman out of the car somewhere near Campbell after the attack. The woman reported the incident to an officer conducting a traffic stop.
