Deadline is Wednesday for Salvation Army Christmas assistance program

YOUNGSTOWN — Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the deadline to sign up for the Salvation Army’s Christmas assistance program in Mahoning County.

People seeking help must be Mahoning County residents. Adults and children 15 and older will count toward the household’s food voucher, and children from birth to 18 will be eligible for toys.

Applicants must have a valid picture identification for every adult member of the household, proof of guardianship for all minors, and Social Security cards for everyone in the household, proof of all income including food stamps, and utility bills and rental or lease agreements.
