Hen-n-Roosters capture Youngstown senior event
YOUNGSTOWN
The Hen-n-Roosters of Paul Scheetz, Nancy-Hays Cramer, Carl Cramer and John Dasen rolled 2578 to win the 2010 Youngstown Senior team tournament that concluded on Nov. 7 at Boardman Lanes.
Bob’s Service of Lefty Shopinsky, Fred Zagotti, Joe Haus and Mickey Yurco was the runner-up team with 2536.
The Hammers of Ron Palowitz, Dave Ifft, John Larson and Marshall McCree secured third place with 2524, while, with 2493, the fourth-place team was Our Gang of John Doughton Jr., George Finelli, Gene Rossi and Bill Bahny.
In fifth with 2492 was Andy’s Bunch with Jim Price, Andy Chicase, Mark Aaron and Robert Vukovich.
The next senior tournament is the 2010 Senior Mixed Doubles at West Side Lanes. Entries are available at the local bowling centers or via web page youngstownsbt.com.
Tammy Diver’s 280-780 led Stachowski/Noticeable Homes Ladies Trio at Amron on Nov. 3, while Ciarra Moran’s 712 led C-G Pro Shop/Wedgewood Ladies Trio on Nov. 2, when Brenda James’ 276 was top game.
Team Fore of Stephanie Novak, Cori Smith, Jennifer Smith and Mike Socie won first quarter in Mixed Bankers at Holiday.
At Camelot, the Pocket Rockets of Ben Shoman, Kevin Hynes, Zachery Barber and Tristan Myers won the Majors’ first 3rd, while the Fire Ballers of Riley Adamowicz, Jaret Davis, Terrell Benson and Charley Kish won the Strikers’ first 3rd.
Bell-Wick’s Spiech Classic had a pair of 300s on Nov. 8, when Matt Clipse led with 300-785, while Adam Barta registered 300-725.
Andrew Letscher’s 289-716 led McKinley’s Juniors/Majors on Nov. 6.
Warren Jr. Masters
The finals of the 24th Warren Junior Masters begin today at 1 p.m. at Freeway Lanes.
Three blocks of five games were bowled at Crest Lanes, Echo Lanes and Cortland Lanes to determine the finalists. The top six girls and the top eight boys advanced for head-to-head competition. They will compete for over $600 in scholarship money.
The boys’ division featured 17 bowlers. Tim Kennedy, boys defending champion, led 14 of the 15 qualifying rounds. Kennedy had high game of 279, while the high five-game block belonged to Zachary Thompson with 1198.
The girls division featured 10 bowlers. Morgan Alden, defending champion, led all 15 qualifying rounds. The Howland student had a high game of 259 and high five-game block of 1045.
