Canfield speakers win tournament

The Canfield High School speech and debate team took first place in Team Sweepstakes at the Nov. 6 Columbiana tournament.

Caroline Bennett came in first place in Oratorical Interpretation. Mary Wirtz earned second place in Original Oratory. Tim Nesnidol took second in Humor, while Dominique Favre came in third place.

Emily Damelio earned second place in Drama. Adrian Slipski took first in United States Extemp and Andy Sun took third. In International Extemp, Gretchen Scheel came in first place. Mary Elizabeth Monda and Elise Szabo took third place in Duo. In Impromptu, Marisa McGrath came in first, Chloe Gebacz came in second and Gary Zamary took third.

C.J. Blaney came in second in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Billy Quirk earned second place in Student Congress.
