Struthers man charged with raping 14-year-old

A Renee Drive man has been charged with felony rape.

Charles Lantz II, 20, was arrested at his home Wednesday, a police report indicates.

He was taken to the Mahoning County Jail and released, according to a log record there. The jail said Thursday it could not provide the amount of his bond. The Struthers Clerk of Courts office was closed Thursday for Veterans Day.

Lantz is charged with raping a 14-year-old Struthers girl once sometime in July or August, the police report says.

The rape happened at Lantz’s house, the report says.

The girl’s mother came to the police station to file a complaint Oct. 13 and was told to take the girl to the hospital, the report says.

Lantz has a preliminary hearing set in Struthers Municipal Court at 9:30 a.m. next Friday.
