Boardman church welcomes new pastor

Neighbors | Submitted.Pastor Timothy Brown joined Disciples Christian Church in Boardman in August to serve as the new pastor. .He has a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Wright State University and a Bachelor's of Music Degree from Ohio University.

After serving nine years at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Massillon, Ohio Timothy Brown is leading Disciples Christian Church in Boardman as its new pastor. He began there in August.

Brown is a 2001 graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio, with a Master in Divinity. Brown also has a master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from Wright State University and a bachelor’s of Music Degree from Ohio University.

Brown and wife Cindy have been married since 1987. They have four children; April, 19, Erica, 16, Jacob, 12 and Jesse, 3.

Rev. Brown served as the director and founder of the Mayor’s task force on homelessness (Western Stark County Homeless Task Force). He was also a previous President of the Massillon Area Clergy Association, and co-founder of the Massillon Area Pastor’s Prayer initiative.

He presently serves on the Transformational Ministry Team with the Christian Church in Ohio.
